MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Santa was busy this year and brought me three new bow ties! Super excited about those... But I also had some Christmas cash burning a hole deep in my pocket and I decided to take a trip to the mall. Turns out Macy's was having an AWESOME sale... I'm talking about $50 bow ties for $9 each... I bought a lot...
I also got the best Christmas present of all a few days before Dec 25... I got my student teaching placements. My teaching begins at Shady Grove Elementary School and finishes at Deep Run High School, both in Henrico County. The excitement is building each day before I start (on Jan. 7).
This semester is going to be such a blessing. Glad to be back home in Richmond making great connections, training for summer triathlons, and enjoying all that home has to offer. Definitely going to miss my friends at school though, my awesome apartment, and my amazing girlfriend. Luckily, she got my an incredible Christmas gift: a "Student Teaching Survival Kit" (complete with chocolate, pencils, sticky notes, advil, kleenex, hand sanitizer, and even a wine glass). Cannot wait for the football banquet next weekend and a chance to visit my girlfriend (and she is even letting me have a date with another woman! Ms. Kathy, from DHall, and I are going to the JMU football banquet together!)
I probably won't post before January 7, but look for a great outfit for that Monday!

The Beginning
This spring will begin the grand finale to my undergraduate career. I will be finishing my journey towards becoming a professional educator back at home student teaching in Henrico County. While ties are not always required in the classroom, I find that they add a certain "je ne sais quoi" to the classroom atmosphere.
So I want to have a fun way to remember my experience, by blogging about my teaching wardrobe, and sharing my experiences and growth along the way.
Hopefully there will be some great pictures to share as I journey through student teaching in style.
I am brainstorming some things to do to make it fun, such as Straight Tie Tuesday, No Tie Friday, etc. (just to keep it lively).
Pictures, videos, and stories will all be shared here, on this blog, starting in January of 2013. Hope you all will subscribe or tune in and follow what will be a very exciting journey in my life.
